Review: Betsey Johnson Too Too Rollerball

Published January 7, 2012 by Raayvhen

“The vibrant scent is comprised of sweet passion fruit, sparkling mandarin, ginger, and strawberry leaves spun together with an underlying delicate pink musk that suggests femininity and warmth. To round it out, jasmine, Bulgarian rose, patchouli, sandalwood, and vanilla add just the right touch of radiance.”

For those of you that don’t already know, I have a love affair with anything Betsey Johnson, so of course, I had to get her new perfume. I couldn’t justify buying the full size perfume as I’d just bought a Betsey dress at the Seattle store, so instead I got the 10 ml roller-ball version.

First off, the box is gorgeous. It has both the iconic cheetah print and the roses. Along the top, there is a string of shiny dots representing rhinestones.

The roller vial is a nice light pink and is very simple. The cap is black as is the print on the vial. There is also a black lightening bolt near the top. The ball is metal, which is a nice change from the standard plastic. My only concern is the bottle sounds and feels rather fragile. I guess I’ll just have to keep it in the box when I put it in my makeup bag.

In bottle: Mandarin, musk, ginger, and the passion fruit all hit at once.

Immediate on skin reaction: I immediately smelled the musk and the ginger. The musk is also rather obvious at this point.

Five minutes: Definitely can smell the rose, jasmine, and the vanilla. The musk is still noticeable but no longer overwhelming.

Lasting power: I believe mine lasted approximately 3 hours or so. Rather reasonable in my opinion.

Will I buy it again? Definitely.

Review: Laptop Battery and Power Adapter

Published December 18, 2011 by Raayvhen

So once I repaired my laptop, I decided I needed a new battery. Mine lasted about three seconds before shutting off. I went to charge it and my adapter wouldn’t light up. I frantically ran around my house trying it in every socket and even blowing into the connection points. Well, it turned out that it had just died. I was already going to shell out a ton of money for a battery and I couldn’t spare enough for a new charger as well. I decided to try out Amazon to see if I could save a few bucks. Amazingly it turned out I could grab a new battery and a new power adapter for $48 including one day shipping.

So I quickly ordered, reassured by Amazon’s amazing return policy. So I took the plunge and it just happened to work out great.

The battery fits perfectly. When I plugged it in, it had a 69% charge. After fully charged, it held for three hours before giving me a low battery warning. That’s great in my opinion, I think that the original battery from Dell only held a four-hour charge anyways. Now the battery was well packed in protective plastic, foam, and a solid box.  The adapter works well too. Unlike the original one I got from Dell, I liked that it didn’t have a bend where it connected to the brick. I think it will take the pressure off when it’s completely stretched out. It has the same color light as the original and the length isn’t too terrible.
